Big news for Ontario employers and immigration applicants!

Starting July 2, 2025, the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is launching a new Employer Portal that will modernize the process for submitting and managing applications under the Employer Job Offer streams. This marks a significant move from the current paper-based method to a fully digital, employer-led process.

What Is Changing?

Previously, applicants would start the process by submitting their own Expression of Interest (EOI) and then obtaining employer documentation afterward. With the new OINP Employer Portal, the process becomes employer-initiated. Employers will now be responsible for submitting employment position details directly through the portal before the applicant can register their EOI.

This change aims to reduce errors, streamline submissions, and improve transparency between all parties involved.

Key Features of the New OINP Employer Portal

Here’s what makes the new system a major upgrade:

Employer-led submission process – Employers initiate the EOI process

Seamless integration with My Ontario – Single sign-on for government services

Online application management – No more paper-based Employer Forms

Secure document uploads – Share job offer details and supporting documents digitally

Auto-filled forms – Minimize data duplication

Multi-user access – Add employer contacts and authorized representatives

Track applications easily – Real-time status updates for employers

Transition Timeline: What You Need to Know

To prepare for the launch of this new system, OINP has set out a transition period that all stakeholders must follow:

📌 June 20–July 2, 2025:No new EOIs can be submitted under the Employer Job Offer streams.

📌 June 21–22, 2025:All existing EOIs under the following streams will be automatically withdrawn:

  • Employer Job Offer: Foreign Worker

  • Employer Job Offer: International Student

  • Employer Job Offer: In-Demand Skills

📌 June 27–29, 2025:Full system shutdown for all OINP streams. No application access or submissions.

📌 July 2, 2025:The new Employer Portal goes live! Employers can register and submit employment position details. Once completed, applicants can re-register their EOIs, which will now be valid for 12 months and used in future OINP draws.

What This Means for Employers and Applicants

  • Employers: Take charge of your hiring needs by registering on the portal and preparing job offer details in advance. This will enable quicker processing and better alignment with program draws.

  • Applicants: Coordinate with your employer as soon as the portal opens. Your EOI must now follow the employer's job submission, so timing and collaboration are key.
